My Story

Little Miss Daisy is all an adorable puppy can be: friendly, affectionate, playful, busy and with all joie de vivre that comes with being a puppy! She’s three months old and about 17 pounds. Daisy, her mom (a chocolate Lab, not sure who dad was) and siblings were unwanted by their family. We were fortunate to work with an excellent rescue partner who made sure this little family was well cared for until they could be flown to us by Pilots and Paws. Daisy is having the time of her life with her foster family in the mountains that includes a patient big Lab brother, Miles, and Lab savvy humans. She is doing very well with her house training, is crate trained, a happy greeter and loving several short daily walks and “hikes”. Her foster parents add: “Daisy is a puppy, what more can I say! Her puppy antics are unending. She pounces like a cat, does ‘hot laps’, and will then sit down and chew on a toy... all within a few minutes. Daisy is a really sweet and happy little girl. She is definitely a puppy and is curious about everything. Left to her own devices, she would also get into everything!! We've seen her be both cautious and then jump right in with abandonment within minutes of each other. “She loves to play with our dog, steal a toy and then run back to me as if she were playing hide and seek. She plays hard and will wear herself out and take a nap. She loves curling up next to us and sleeping deeply. She is smart and we are sure she'll respond well to training. “Her favorite activities? Getting into everything!! Playing with toys, especially pirating them from our dog. She chews constantly, so we have lots of toys to give her to avoid chewing on furniture. She also likes chasing after balls. She likes going outdoors on walks and is interested in everything. “Being a puppy, I think she'd be happy anywhere where she is loved. Having said that, she is a puppy, and requires constant attention and observation. So, someone with puppy experience or a clear understanding of what puppies need is a must. I also recommend getting her into puppy training as soon as possible. It will help her new family, but Daisy would also benefit, as she wants to please “Daisy is a really happy-go-lucky puppy who is very well adjusted, confident, and happy . She will definitely be a wonderful and loving companion. She is just an adorable and innocent little being and will quickly grab your heart!” Note: Daisy will only be placed with a family consisting adults or older children who can treat a puppy with kindness and respect, and that has ample time throughout the day to devote to raising a puppy to responsible adulthood.
