My Story

Meet Daisy! This charming little gal is a 2-year-old Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix (our best guess!) who weighs in at just 14 pounds of pure cuteness. Daisy arrived to Farfel's Rescue in early January and is still looking for her forever home. Daisy came from Roswell, NM where she was surrendered to the shelter when her owner moved and couldn't bring her. While she started off shy and unsure, Daisy has blossomed into such a great dog in her foster home!!! From Daisy's foster: "So much good progress with little Daisy! She was pretty confused / timid at first, but sharing the bed helped her bond and feel more secure. She is house trained but I don’t believe anyone ever put a leash on her before me. But now she is great on leash and going out. She has come a long way and is such a good dog! She is cat friendly too!" We don't know if Daisy has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. At Farfel's Rescue, we believe in setting both adopters and dogs up for success. That’s why we offer a one-week trial period with every adoption. This allows you to make sure Daisy is the right fit for your family before making a lifetime commitment. Should it not work out, we offer a refund of the adoption fee within the trial period. Daisy has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed. If you’re interested in adopting Daisy, please be sure to fill out our Farfel’s Rescue adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in Daisy, submitting our Farfel's Rescue adoption application is essential. Applications from other sites like Petfinder or Adoptapet don’t provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. We appreciate your understanding! Let’s work together to give Daisy the loving home and happy life she deserves. Thank you for choosing rescue!
