Darby

This seems like the first time we have had a Chinese Crested dog in our shelter! This adorable 11 y/o adult pup (who has another good 6 yrs to live) named Darby, was released to us because his owner could not care for him any longer. Darby was well cared for and loved. We are sad he could not remain with his owner. But we will find him a wonderful loving new lap to sleep on! Our senior here would love someone who is home most of the time and wants to have a dog on their lap and to play with. Darby loves company! We think he would be okay with another small mellow dog, but they would need to meet twice. He can be adopted to a family with children who respect dogs and can add love and affection to his life. He probably will be ok with cats too!!! Possibly the best home for this little tyke would be a dog loving senior who's home alot to give Darby what he needs! Stop in to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our dogs. If you have a dog already and are looking to add another to your family, please come without your dog for the first meeting. If that goes well, we will set up another meeting with you and your dog to ensure we that we have an available volunteer to supervise the dog meeting and make sure they are a good match. We do not adopt first come; we always adopt to the best home for our animals and require approval from our dog committee. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you can have a dog. Also bring your Vet's information to so we can conduct a vet check (and please let your Vet know we will be making a call). Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs. Our animals are fully vetted before being placed for adoption, and spayed/neutered if they are old enough. If they are too young for spay or neuter, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.
