Dasher

Friendly and congenial, Dasher is an adorable Australian Cattle Dog mix, born early September 2024, 18#. He’s easy to live with, taking whatever life throws at him in stride. Playful and engaged with his humans. He enjoys exploring the world around him – smelling all the smells and running through the woods with his foster family are highlights of his day. Dasher is smart, adapting to the routine of his foster home quickly – running to his crate for meals, and sitting nicely for attention. Respectful of older dogs, following their lead. Happily living with kids and cats in a busy foster home. The ideal home for Dasher incorporates their dog fully into life. They will take him to obedience classes, continuing socialization that is so important at this age. Continued exposure to sights and sounds will build his confidence, as will clear expectations. He lets you know when he feels he's missing out on something. His foster family is helping him learn how to relax in his crate. Dasher is a medium energy guy who enjoys time outside. He wants to lead a life that includes regular exercise. He will be a great companion, ready to do what his people enjoy. Good in the car, ready to join holiday celebrations and meet extended family at gatherings, and hang with the kids after school doing homework. A typical puppy, Dasher is learning every day. Leash walking, potty and crate training and all the other skills puppies need to know are in process. Physically fenced yard is preferred so he has a safe space to play, and families that have a history of keeping dogs safe on leash will also be considered. Dasher wants to be with his people more than other dogs and could easily be an only pup. Foster mom says: "Dasher is ready for his own family. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Dasher's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered at one of the vet clinics we work with at around 6 months of age. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
