My Story

Must adopt within Atl. Metro area Must Adopt in Atlanta Metro Area. DD is a Yorkshire Terrier and loves being a cuddle bug and hanging out with you. She is working on her potty training and doing great but she does still have pee accidents in the house if she doesn't have a chance to go out. She needs a very consistent routine where she can be taken out every 2 hours. For this reason, she needs a home with someone that is retired or works from home. She is crate trained and can go for up to 4 hours in the crate during the day without an accident. She can also make it through the night. She likes to sleep on your bed but she wants to pottie first thing as soon as you get up. She doesn't like to go outside alone and needs you to walk into the yard with her and stay there while she wanders around. She will sometimes use a pee pad in the house but she'll also mistake a small rug for a pee pad so those need to be pulled up. Continued house training will need to be a priority in her new home. We've been working on this for 5 months and we're still working on it so her new adopter will have to be committed to this process and very, very patient because there will be accidents. DD loves toys and she carries one in her mouth most of the time. She is a very yappy little dog, like most Yorkies. DD loves everyone she meets even though she barks at them at first. She is wonderful with children but does not want to be with children that would be rough with her. DD is spayed, heartworm negative and current on her vaccines. She just had a dental and had two teeth removed so she's all set. Her adoption fee is $350. An application, references, and a home visit are required. Age: 8yrs Weight: 12lbs Temperament: Good with respectful kids, ok with dogs and cats Training: Crate- and potty pad trained; working on potty outside Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative Contact: [email protected] (Amy) We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
