Hi, my name is Delilah and I am looking for a forever home. I am a young puppy at around 10 weeks old who weighs around 22 pounds, as of the beginning of August. I am most likely an American Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier-type mixed breed dog, and it is expected that I will be large when full grown, maybe weighing anywhere from 60-90 pounds.
I came to the rescue very under-socialized with people, but am working on learning to accept attention. I much prefer the company of other dogs to humans, and will require a dog in my forever home to continue to help me gain confidence. I sleep all night in my crate, and am doing very well with potty training, but still have many other puppy-like behaviors. I have sharp puppy teeth and like to explore the world with them . . . shoes, furniture, cords, hands, feet . . . you name it, I've had it in my mouth. I seem to really like kids though, so might enjoy having a few in my forever home, as long as they understand I might nip hands in play or even chew a favorite toy if they leave it out where I can get to it.
My forever family will need lots of patience with me, to teach me leash walking and appropriate behaviors about what I can and can't eat, and will need to understand that they probably aren't going to be my favorite companions in the home . . . the dog will be, though. I am cat-friendly too, so your kitties are safe with me. Also as I will most likely be a big girl, a family who is ready to be an advocate for me and my breed, and who will help me be the best version of myself, is needed. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.
