Meet Denver, a 13-week-old (DOB 08/01/2024) male Retriever/Pitbull Terrier mix, estimated to grow into a large-sized dog. Currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS, Detroit is a sweet love bug who is both playful and curious but also enjoys his chill time. He loves to cuddle and will happily give you licks when held. He’s ready to transport out of state once matched with an approved adopter. Denver was rescued with his mom and siblings from the streets of Cleveland, TX. They were found abandoned in a cardboard box by community mailboxes, left in the hot sun for hours just days after they were born. Denver has a balanced personality, combining curiosity and playfulness with a love for relaxation and affection. He is observant and likes to watch the world around him. Like any puppy, he's not fully housebroken and not yet crate trained, so he'll need time, patience, and guidance to learn these skills. We recommend a home with another well-balanced dog to help mentor Detroit, and families with children who understand and respect animal boundaries. Experience raising puppies is preferred, or a willingness to seek help from training resources or experienced friends and family. Puppies bring a lot of joy, but they also require dedication to socialization, leash training, and basic obedience. Please note that puppies under six months are adopted on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered. Additionally, someone will need to be home more often than not, as long periods of crating are not suitable for a puppy’s development. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
