My Story

*****We are Good Catch Dog Rescue. The dogs in our care are fostered by either ourselves or close friends. We are in Texas, and we transport our dogs North because TX is flooded with unwanted dogs already. All of our dogs are vaccinated and on preventatives. Dogs older than 6 months are spayed or neutered. Our dogs live with us, not in boarding, and they are part of our family. Please visit our website to learn more about our family and our dogs. Goodcatchdogrescue.org***** On November 16th, we were asked to help an overcrowded shelter in Bastrop County TX with a family of 9 puppies and their mom. Mom is named Croia (pronounced Creeya) and her name means "of the heart". Her pups all have names having to do with the heart. They are survivors of parvo and kennel cough and more commonly, a broken animal welfare system in Texas. These pups are thriving with Good Catch and are ready to find homes and families for the holidays. Born in early October, this family was brought into the County shelter when they were just 2 weeks old. They came into rescue at 6 weeks and their journey to wellness began! Dilara is a warrior! She was the sickest of her siblings when they first arrived from the shelter and lost a lot of weight at the beginning of her journey to wellness. She proved that she would prevail, and she did! This little girl is stout and healthy now at almost 12 weeks and 20 pounds. The name Dilara means "adorning the heart". We didn't know when we named her that this would fit her to a T! Dilara is a beautiful pup both inside and out. She has a side of playfulness and joy that is matched with her peacefulness and observant side. She's often investigating around her foster's yard looking for something to chew on or play with. This little girl will most likely grow to be close to 60-65 pounds. A good match for this good catch would be a young family with children who live in a home with a yard. This little family has proven to love the outdoors and will continue to need enrichment and outdoor exercise throughout their puppyhood. No apartment living for Dilara or her siblings. (We have small breed pups for apartments). Dilara has had her Bordetella vaccine and 3 of her puppy vaccines. She will receive her rabies vaccine at 12 weeks. She is microchipped and on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. You can see her brother Euston's DNA results by visiting our website: Goodcatchdogrescue.org We are happy to share more stories, photos and videos and fill you in on our rescue and transport options. Please fill out an application and we'll be in touch with you soon!!! Our adoption fee is $350 and the cost to transport out of Texas is an additional $300. We only use trusted transport partners.
