Meet Dixie!
Four words that describe Dixie – sweet, happy, beautiful, and a lovebug! This dog is just as sweet as she is beautiful! She follows you everywhere and wants to please you. She craves human attention and loves all the affection she can get.
Dixie came from a bad situation and has blossomed into a wonderful lady. She’s very friendly, loves all people including kids. She’s good with other dogs and is fine with cats. She’s housebroken and is very easy to live with. Dixie does have an obsession over frisbees! She’ll take off running and leap up to catch one then bring it right back to you. If you don’t have a frisbee close by grab a toy or tennis ball, she just loves to play. Dixie has a great “off switch;” she’s calm outside unless you pull out a toy or her frisbee then it’s “Game On,” but once back inside she chills quickly at your feet.
Dixie is currently being fostered on a farm. She is great with all the dogs she’s met there including big, livestock guardian dogs. She also has an excellent recall! She listens so well she’s seldom on leash.
As mentioned, Dixie loves people! She gets so excited when meeting people, sometimes she even smiles. If you let her, she greets people by jumping up on them. If you’re on the couch, she likes to sneak onto your lap; this dog just loves attention!
Dixie’s first trip to Tractor Supply with her foster mom – she opened the crate in her van and Dixie jumped right in (she loves to go for rides)! She laid down the whole trip and was quiet. Once arrived, Dixie greeted everyone and took treats nicely from the cashiers. They thought Dixie was so sweet and they all wanted to give her treats. We walked around the store and down the dog toy aisle and Dixie wanted to pick out her own toy (the frisbee was her favorite!). When we got back home, we played frisbee and once inside, she laid down and took a nap. Such a good girl!
Dixie is spayed, up to date on her shots, on heartworm preventative, and flea/tick preventative. She has no health issues. She would really love a 24/7 human buddy, and/or a doggy friend when humans are not at home.
