My Story

Doc is an Australian cattle dog mix who is here in Maine in foster. His foster says: "I totally adore him. He is smart and quirky and fast! He's super cute and very thoughtful". Doc is good with dogs and kids, although we recommend older kids as he is a heeler with some herding tendencies. He is good with the cat in his foster home, although his foster feline does not run- his foster believes he may chase a cat if it runs. He is very intelligent and knows many commands, including "no" and "leave it". He is crate trained and stays nicely in his crate when his foster is at work. We recommend he go to another home with a playful dog as he seems to really enjoy the dogs in his foster home. He loves to play fetch and will require a family that will give him daily exercise and stimulation although his foster says that he is chill in the house when properly exercised. If you think you might be interested in adopting Doc or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters have access to our Google slides that showcase all of our available dogs as well.
