My Story

Meet Dolly! This poor sweetie was captured after having been seen running around a field for weeks. She was most likely dumped there. She is settling into her foster home and is doing well. She is a timid girl but so endearing and sweet. She will love having a dog friend in the home to help her with some confidence. From her foster family: Dolly gently wakes up with us in bed each morning and is ready to start her day! She will go outside to go potty (95% house trained) and then will be excited for breakfast. She will then go outside again for some exploring and playing with our SGA alum, Rocco. The dogs generally will play for a bit before heading back to bed for "morning night-nights" and sleep for about an hour. Afterward, they are ready to play and nap throughout the day, with lots of outdoor breaks. Dolly enjoys her dinner and is not food-aggressive, yet can be a bit protective when our dog is ready to check on her bowl. Dolly is a great snuggler while we watch TV - she is generally easy to direct if she's getting too playful for the moment. She's a good girl and sleeps throughout the night. Dolly enjoys exploring and running in our backyard for a few hours, supervised, each day. She loves snuggling, playing with people, exploring/sniffing outdoors, napping, looking cute, and enjoying a Kong, breakfast/dinner, or treat. She likes playing with toys and chewing on Himalayan dog treats, but hasn't yet found a favorite toy. Dolly hasn't yet met too many people, but those she has she is generally gentle and cautious until they earn her trust. Dolly and our puppy get along pretty well and she is not afraid to let him know when he's being too much of a playful pup for her taste. She is not destructive to any household items - not a big chewer that we know of. Dolly has generally been left in a spare bedroom alone (with her crate and bed and water) or in the living room with our puppy - and she does well. So far, the longest Dolly has been left alone is about 3 hours. She seems to do well in the car - no whining. Overall, Dolly is cautious - but generally not fearful, though she was very fearful when she first arrived, and warmed up after her third day with us. Dolly likes to play with her human friends, but we can work on some gentle nipping of feet, hands, ears. Dolly could use more leash training for walks. She is a really sweet girl and so pretty! She can be playful and then snuggle right up with you on the couch. She enjoys sniffing in the yard. Dolly is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.
