My Story
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Meet Dorothy, a sweet 10-year-old, spayed, 10 lb Chihuahua mix who's looking for her forever home! This sweet girl was rescued from the streets of San Antonio and spared from the euthanasia list at the local shelter. Now, she’s ready to start a new chapter in a home full of love and comfort. She’s currently in a foster home in AUSTIN, TEXAS, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!
Dorothy has a unique feature—one of her eyes is slightly smaller than the other. Rest assured, this has been thoroughly checked by multiple veterinarians, and they’ve confirmed that it doesn’t cause her any discomfort or health issues; it’s purely cosmetic and just adds to her charm!
Despite being a senior, Dorothy has a lot of pep in her step and a spunky spirit. Her adorable, pointy ears are always up, ready to listen for any sign of treats or snuggles. Dorothy is the perfect mix of independence and affection—she loves exploring her surroundings but will happily curl up in your lap for an afternoon nap or snuggle under the covers with you on chilly nights. She’s the ultimate companion for those cozy fall evenings when you're enjoying a movie and lighting your favorite pumpkin-scented candle.
In addition to being good-natured and calm, Dorothy has proven herself to be gentle with kids. She’s been around children under the age of 5 and has been so sweet and patient, even gently accepting treats from their tiny hands. She has a naturally calm demeanor around little ones, making her an excellent choice for a family with respectful children.
This sweet girl is both potty and crate trained, making her a breeze to have around the house. She’s still learning to be comfortable on a leash, but her foster family is working on boosting her confidence. Dorothy recently had a dental cleaning, so she's sporting a fresh new smile, and she’s spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines.
Dorothy currently lives in a foster home with other dogs of various sizes. She does well with them, but her comfort zone is definitely with smaller dogs or gentle larger dogs who respect her petite size. She hasn’t been around cats, so her compatibility is unknown. And for children, she would do best in a calm home with kids who can understand her boundaries.
