Dottie

Meet DOTTIE! Dottie is a gorgeous, 4 year old, 40-45 pound female small chocolate lab mix. Her smile and expressive eyes add to her looks, and her sweet and lovable personality. She gets along with other dogs, but not a fan of kitties. Dottie warms up quickly in new situations, and loves to get head pets. She seems to understands house training and is crate trained. While Dottie settles down nicely to hang out, also is playful and up for any activity. Poor Dottie was found as a stray with horribly infected ears and ended up in a North Carolina shelter, which was beyond capacity; the shelter put out an urgent plea and luckily for Dottie a local foster got her out of the shelter giving her a safe place to stay and get her ears treated until we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect. Dottie is very happy to now be in the DC area to find a forever family that will give her the attention that she deserves and never abandon her to wander the streets or end up in a high-kill shelter. Dottie would love to curl up with you to hang out on a cold winter night! She would be an excellent new member of the family! Dottie will be spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives and eager to find a family to love! ***Please note that our first step is to fill out an application (it does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Dottie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines.
