My Story

Meet East !! He is the last puppy left from our Compass Litter and is ready to start his new life! We recently took in East and his sweet siblings from a rural outdoor shelter. His brothers are all adopted or pending adoption. East is an approx. 10 wek old male. We do not know what either parent was so the breed is a guess. They appear to possibly be Australian Shepherd mix. Two have a partially docked tail. (we think they were born that way.) They will likely be medium size when full grown but could be larger. He will all be given several sets of vaccines, deworming, a microchip and neuter as part of his adoption. He was 4.5 pounds at his last vet visit. East is a fun loving and happy puppy. He is one that has a shorter tail. He loves toys and chasing his tail. He is very playful. He also has a super sweet side and will cuddle up with you when he is all tired out and done playing. **He is still very young. It is likely he will have energy and personality changes as he grows up and also once separated from his siblings. He loves other dogs and love kids. He has been very playful and sweet with kids and dogs. He has not yet met any cats but is young enough to learn. East is still so young and has not mastered much training. He is not potty or leash trained. He did fine on the car rides he has been on. He has started crate training, HOWEVER he is still currently in the crate with his siblings, and it’s very likely that there will be some sleepless nights in your home with crate training once they are separated. Adopting a very young puppy is like having an infant in your home. They will keep you up late and there will be a lot of messes to clean up. He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys. They do growl at each other over food at times but that is very common among littermates. He shares well with all other dogs and people. Given the suspected breed the puppies are going to need a lot of exercise and mental playtime. Lots and lots of toys, games, walks, runs, fetch and anything active to keep them busy. If you are not prepared to offer this to your new pup several times a day, EVERY DAY, then please adopt a different dog with a lower level of energy. They may stay this energetic throughout their life if they do have Aussie in them. Read up on the breed prior to applying. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family’s lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) Please message [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application
