My Story

This delicious little chocolate chunk is EDISON, a sweet 1 year old 28 pound mixed breed boy. Edison is a love bug who adores people, he'll even give you a smile. He's a bit shy in new situations but is happy to meet new friends. Edison is a bobtailed wiggle butt with stunning caramel-colored eyes. He loves attention from people. He's good with other dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another friendly dog. Edison is a Heinz 57 varieties type mixed breed boy. His vet records list him as an Australian Shepherd mix but we suspect a DNA test would show about 10 breeds. He's a nice manageable size, fully grown at just 28 pounds. If you'd like to meet Edison, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. You can meet him at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
