A couple of months ago we were contacted about some labs that the mill didn’t sell. Shortly after they arrived the Foster’s noticed them having some regurgitation after drinking. Our vet then diagnosed them with Megaeophagus and started them on meds. (Megaesophagus is a condition in dogs that causes the esophagus to enlarge and lose its ability to move food and water from the mouth to the stomach) Between the medication and some changes made to how they are eating/drinking they have been doing well. It’s now time to find them homes. We have 3 total and we would love a family who has dealt with this before as this is a life long thing. Many dog owners consider their pups, their babies, but how many come complete with their own high chair and mandatory cuddle time? Ellie is a 7month old pup with mega esophagus. However, despite being a ‘special needs’ pup she is the sweetest dog who loves to cuddle, has almost mastered house training, is learning that life doesn’t have to be so scary, that a chuck-it ball is about the coolest thing ever, and that people can be pretty awesome, too. Ellie has found success being fed upright and her foster mom is ready to share what she’s found to work with you. We just know that special home is out there for Ellie.
