My Story

Meet Elphaba (Elphie)! Elphaba is a 6-month-old puppy who has blossomed into a happy, outgoing girl after being rescued from the Santa Rosa shelter. Once terrified, she quickly found her confidence in her foster home among the husky pack and is now thriving! Elphie has a unique, soft coat with textured curls that hint at a possible mix beyond husky. She's expected to grow to about 55 lbs and has a moderate energy level, making her a great companion for both active adventures and chill days at home. Here's what makes Elphie special: Potty trained and dog door trained Sleeps quietly in her crate all night Plays well with other dogs, sharing toys and respecting social cues (she adores her younger foster brother and respects her elder foster siblings) Food motivated, making her eager to learn Not food aggressive Loves exploring the backyard and "hunting" squirrels A typical puppy who's still learning not to chew socks and can be mouthy when playing-but she's making great progress with training Elphie would thrive in a home with other dogs or as a solo pup with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. She's good with older kids who understand how to respect a dog's boundaries. Currently fostered in the Sacramento area, Elphie is ready to find her forever home. Apply to adopt her today and schedule a meet-and-greet to see if she's the perfect fit for your family.
