My Story

Meet Elsa, a stunning 1-year-old chocolate Standard Poodle with a sweet disposition and a heart full of potential. At ~45 lbs and still growing, Elsa is a high-energy pup who is ready to find her forever family. She is heartworm negative, updated on vaccines, microchipped and scheduled for her spay procedure soon. This intelligent girl has already shown remarkable traits during her short time in foster care. Elsa is calm and composed in the car, sitting in her own seat even when tempted by food or distractions. She exhibits impressive restraint around food that isn’t hers—no begging, just polite curiosity. Her intelligence shines through, making her a great candidate for training with someone dedicated to helping her reach her full potential. Elsa loves being petted and shows a natural inclination to bond with her people, likely growing into a devoted cuddler. While she’s still learning her name and what’s expected of her, she responds well to gentle correction and shows an eagerness to please. As a poodle, Elsa is naturally energetic but has moments of calm and will likely mature into a more balanced, laid-back companion over time. She needs a home with a spacious, secure yard to accommodate her energy and would thrive with another playful dog to romp with. If you’re ready to welcome a smart, loving, and playful pup into your life, Elsa might just be the perfect match. Apply today to make this beautiful girl a part of your family! This sweetheart is ready for a forever home! This dog is a Benefactor Dog. His/her increased adoption fee will allow them to act as a benefactor to other dogs in our care that require special medical care and a better chance at adoption. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Benefactor Adoption Fee Scale: Benefactor Puppies under 12 months - $550 Benefactor Dogs over 12 months - $450 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed.
