My Story

Female, 6 mos old, 43 lbs Personality: calm, adventurous, goofy/funny, easygoing, affectionate, playful, loyal, and shy. Meet Ember, who's full of spark! This glowing girl is a bundle of fun and wants to play all day, whether that's chasing squirrels on a walk, chewing on bones, or playing with a squeaky toy. When playtime is over, she'll curl up for a snuggle session or settle into her crate for a nighttime snooze. Ember gets along great with other dogs and enjoys meeting new human friends. She is housetrained and crate trained. Ember is a loving and hilarious companion, and she would love to light a fire of love in your home. Apply today to meet Ember! -- If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
