Ettie

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog M:4Ettie is a petite 43-pound Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix with an energetic spirit and a love for playing fetch. At her core, Ettie is a sweet and eager girl who's still learning about the world and how to navigate it. She's easily overstimulated and can be vocal, so she'll need an adopter with a calm demeanor and lots of patience to help her find balance. With no formal training or manners yet, 1-year old Ettie would benefit from an experienced and active adopter committed to working on her basic obedience. She might also thrive in a home with a well-matched dog companion who can model good dog skills and help her feel more at ease. Having been found as a stray, adopted, and later returned to the shelter, Ettie is showing signs of anxiety and stress. Her ideal home would provide structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for mental and physical enrichment. A home without children would be best, as she continues to work on managing her energy and boundaries.
