Meet Evanston! Evanston is a 3 year old male Border Collie, lab mix. He’s neutered and up to date on vaccines. This sweet boy was abandoned by his owners when they moved away. He was surviving on his own for over 4 months living in a vacant barn and sleeping in a garbage can lid. A local trapper tried trapping him for almost two weeks before a Good Samaritan was able to get him to trust her enough to save him. He is microchipped and his owners were contacted but sadly, did not return our many phone calls. Evanston’s foster family can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want such a perfect dog. He’s already house trained, knows commands, jumps right in the car for adventures, does well on a leash, and gets along with all dogs! He is just a good boy! Evan has not yet been cat tested, but doesn’t bother Guinea pigs. He loves everyone he meets! This boy is very intelligent and would do best with a family that will take time to play with him and walk him daily. Another dog is not required if lots of love and attention will be given by his new family. He does love to play with other dogs though, and listens very well to cues!. He has shown no food aggression, but does use a slow feeder as he eats too quickly, (likely from being starved when he was out on his own). He does need a fenced yard, as he loves to run around and explore and needs to burn energy! Evanston is an amazing dog that deserves the best family!
