Everly

Meet Everly ACCT-A-211179! This gorgeous girl is 2-years-old and came in as a stray on 1/12. Her finder noted that she was "a bit scared around strangers, fine on leash, good dog laid down and let me pet belly, friendly, shy and a little scared." Staff noted that while she was in the intake lobby there were three other dogs in there and she was calm. Behavior Notes: 1/13 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Stray, No cats KENNEL PRESENTATION: Everly was sitting upright at the front with neutral wide eyes and a slightly tense body. She lip licked a few times when I approached, but allowed for me to slip the leash over her head and then exited easily without further issue. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING: In the room Everly shook off and loosened up a lot compared to her kennel! She explored the room with neutral body language and would then walk over to me every once and awhile to check me out. When engaging with me she kept a mid level tail with slow wags and soft eyes. She allowed all handling without issue and was tolerant to all touch! She did not solicit much, but at times would lean in as I pet her back. She is fairly independent, but was happy to chill near me and explore her surroundings. No interest in treats PLAY: No interest TOYS: Released willingly Per staff 1/12: "Unable to complete intake due to behavior. Was able to examine but when restrained got very stiff and flailed when touched by a needle then snapped at the syringe for barrier." Per staff 1/12: "Per staff member, this dog is aggressive towards cats, attacked her cat." Medical Notes: Per an exam on 1/12: Other than mild staining on the teeth, Everly was found to be in good general health. Staff noted her to be "quiet, alert, responsive, shy and somewhat standoffish."
