My Story

Meet Fenrir, a one year old Lab/Shepherd mix. Fenrir was a part of our My Last Litter Program and adopted out as a puppy a year ago. Unfortunately her family returned her for "not being trained". They say Fenrir has been around men, women, kids, dogs and cats without issue but she does play with the cats. This girl is understandably extremely unsure as to why she is at the shelter and we are determined to not let this happen to her again. The next home she has will be the forever home she deserves that will dedicate time to her and help her become the best dog she can be. Despite her entire world being flipped upside down Fenrir is incredibly sweet and we see a lot of potential for this girl. She sits for treats and really just wants to please her people, she just needs someone to show her the way and she will follow them wherever they go. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected].
