Meet Fern! Fern is a sweet, older gentleman who is looking for a loving home to spend his golden years. He was brought in by a kind-hearted police officer after being found as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but we do know he has a heart full of potential for love and companionship. Fern is a bit of a mystery, but his calm demeanor and gentle nature show that he's ready for a fresh start. He's still adjusting to the shelter life but has shown himself to be friendly and grateful for the care he's receiving. Fern may be an older dog, but he's full of charm and just needs someone who's ready to give him the TLC he deserves. He'll be available for adoption starting 1/4, and we're sure he'll make a wonderful companion for someone ready to offer him patience, care, and love. While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known.
