My Story

Age/Birthdate: 08/01/2022 Expected Weight: 20lbs • Breed Guess: Min Pin Mix Best Guess • Fully Vetted: Yes • Adopt fee:$350 Location:Joliet,IL Any Special Medical or Special Needs: Heartworm positive. Heartworm is a simple treatment with 98% success rate. It consists of a month long antibiotic treatment and then 3 part injections over a 4 month period. The cost of treatment is covered by the rescue. Heartworm is not contagious to other dogs so if you are interested in adopting one and have other household dogs there is no worry. Temperament with: Dogs:Unsure Cats:Unsure Children list specific ages: Older Kids/teens Strangers:Shy at first but warms up. Training Needs: Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained : Yes, Has the occasional accident Hi there, I am Flash but I am not as fast as flash. I am actually a cough potato. lol I am came from Arkansas pretty shut down. The rescue doesn't know much about my past but I am kind of a shy guy but I have come around a lot. I kinda like the person to myself and I can be a little wary of new people at first. I just need time. I am doing much better at potty training too and my foster mom thinks that I am completely potty trained she is going to see how I do being left out of the crate. I actually like my crate and know what "bed" or "bed time" means. My favorite spot in the house is on the couch or in bed with you. I can't help it. They are very comfy. If you are ok with a dog on furniture then I am your guy. I like to play with stuffies. My favorite past time is chewing on them. I really don't play fetch and I am not a high energy guy. So if chilling is more your game, then I am your guy. She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval. ADOPTION FEE: $xxx (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and a general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention) *Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure. Interested? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt
