My Story

I am a very lively, bright, and friendly one-year old Doberman looking for a new home that will give me lots of attention, exercise, TLC, and playful interaction. My current family loves me to pieces but they just cannot keep up with my high energy. And they want to make sure I get what I need to be happy and healthy. If you are away many hours a day, can't exercise me vigorously, or tire easily, we are probably not going to be the best match for each other. Athletic outdoorsy folks who live in the country and love to hike or run regularly would be great! Because I am still young, it's best to keep me crated when you leave me home alone, until you have gradually trained me to be alone in the house responsibly. Just don't leave me alone too much please. We dobermans are prone to separation anxiety and we do much better when our humans are around. What else should I tell you? I am affectionate. I love to play with other dogs. I am fun, smart and loving. Oh, and did I say I love to run and explore? I really do! In fact, I love it so much, I can easily be tempted to roam when off the leash. So you are probably going to have to keep training me to be consistent with recall. But I am smart and coachable, so if you treat and train me right, I will definitely rally. Having said that, a GPS collar could be a good idea. I just love my freedom! If I had my dream come true, you would have prior Doberman experience, and know just how to bring the best out of me. But if you are experienced with big breeds, enjoy high energy puppies, have done your research on Dobies, and feel drawn to me … I am sure we'll get along wonderfully! Please spare me having to go back to a shelter. I really don't want to be in a cage, and it would break my current family's heart. They just need to find me a new human pack that will be a good match for me.
