FLYNN/AJ UPDATE: AJ has spent the last year with a family who trains dogs for basic obedience, agility, and dock diving amongst other activities. He has thrived under their care and done a great deal of growing since we last updated his profile! He has matured both physically, cognitively and emotionally. He now weighs right at 60 lbs. AJ has gained so much confidence! He continues to love exploring and playing in the large fenced area at his foster home, which includes a pond. He has proven to be a strong swimmer, which he truly enjoys! AJ has basic obedience under his belt -- he walks great on-leash and has good recall. He knows all his basic commands. AJ is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. Rumor has it that he has turned into quite the couch potato! He loves being with his people and watching over them! Part of his maturity includes doing well when his foster family is away from home. He's ready to be let out at around 6 hours tops, but would likely adjust to a daily work schedule if he were given a break partway through the day. Even though AJ loves snoozing on the couch, he needs to continue with activities such as playtime in a fenced yard and daily walks.
AJ has not been directly around cats, but has done well with all sorts of dogs he has met. He loves his canine foster siblings, who are all medium to large in size. He does not appear to be highly prey driven when exploring his large fenced area, although he has gone after birds a few times. AJ saw a rat in a barn one day, which he turned away from! Such a brave boy!! As mentioned before, AJ loves people and typically does not consider anyone a stranger. He can be a little apprehensive with some men, but when they approach him calmly and give him a treat, he responds well. He loves his foster Dad and his foster sister's boyfriend. He has not been around younger children much, but has not shown any apprehension/fear the few times he has seen them in public outings. However, living with young children may not be the best option for AJ as he is not used to the activity and sound levels that come with that type of home environment.

ORIGINAL PROFILE: Flynn is a beautiful black/tan greyhound mix, born in early October 2022. DNA testing showed greyhound, lab and coonhound along with a small percentage of "Supermutt" in his background. Flynn LOVES people and is a very happy guy. He is working on building his self-confidence and will need an owner that is willing to continue working with him on the good foundation that has been established. Flynn is in a foster home with several other dogs that he interacts with well. He has begun obedience training and is very active.
