My Story
Fred
*Mountain Cur
*1 year and 66 lbs
*If large is what you are looking for, Fred is the dog for you!
Two peas in a pod. Two Gentle Giants. Our big sibling boys FRED and BANDIT are as nice as they're built so to see them behindbars and vying for our attention to be please released and sent home, is a hard pill to swallow. These boys are calm and polite and just a bit nervous as they figure out why they are now under our care. Sadly, theirfamily moved and they were not part of that equation. About 70lbs each, these Mountain Cur mixes have larger footprints but they are easy to manage and great leash walkers. Excellent exiting our busy and noisy kennel area, they paid no heedto all of the doggy chatter and stayed focused on their new human friend and heading to the quiet outside area. Graced with big, welcoming smiles and maybe some extra drool, although their lives have been turned upside down, still they were able to provide their new human friends with a wonderful dose of warm companionship and a settling, calm energy. We give them both a 2 thumbs up and surely hope their stay with us is short lived. If big and chill is your kind of new 4 legged friend, you're welladvised to check out one or both of these handsome brothers!
Facebook Update Nov 23: Best friends. We're in this together. We are shoulder to shoulder. We are siblings. Have you heard about the new blonde boys in town? Well, if not we're here and ready to meet you! Larger, somewhat chill guys, we're not the type to kiss and slobber on you on the first date. We will however give you drive by wet nose touches and maybe, just maybe a good nuzzle with our heads in your lap. Back scratches are also welcome. We're not clingy dogs esp to those we just meet however you'll enjoy how nicely we walk together and how we will periodically check in with you. We're still working on sharing all of the soft, inner, ooey, gooey goodness that you'll find once we get to know each other. Our photo friend said, "I'm a fan of those 2 tan lugs. Gosh, they love each other and they are beginning to recognize me. Their smiles and tail wags are just the tip of what has yet to come. Can't wait to see them fully settle in and share with me all they have to offer as companion pets." And so it goes... Won't you ask for us, BANDIT and FRED?
Facebook Update Nov 26: Our big blonde boys...FRED and BANDIT...had THE best time off site yesterday as they visited our good friends at Tractor Supply Seneca. You should have seen the joy on their faces when we opened the car doors to begin our journey. They flew in!!! They were thrilled to be leaving our noisy space and we're pretty certain they really digged the 70's Sirius Channel that was playing tunes for them in the car!
Fred and Bandit were terrific in the car. They had a wonderful time! Our visit at Tractor Supply also was a huge hit for them as well as for the staff and unsuspecting customers. These very polite, friendly and most manageable fellas skillfully walked the aisles in search of dog appropriate toys, food, deals etc while effortlessly meeting complete strangers. They made great impressions on staff member James and also Store Mgr Ashley. Fred and Bandit are pretty sure they also made the day of the nice customer in the red t-shirt (see pic).
4 yrs old and best buds, it's likely this could be the first year they have spent Thanksgiving behind bars and not with their family. YOU can help though by interviewing them today. The more time we spend with them, the more we really love them. They are very mild mannered...they won't kiss on the first date...but could slobber on the first date. Very amiable and graced with a soft, welcoming feel, we can't wait to meet their new family!!
Facebook UpdateNov 26: Fred and Bandit are getting around! These great natured doggies wereup early and at 'em as we loaded them up today for a Furry Friends TV spot on Your Carolina in Greenville. Hopping in thecar with great excitement, off we went! These guys were greatwalking the busy Main St area in downtown Greenville and skillfullynavigated lots of steps to get inside the Your Carolina set. Exploring the set was a source of joy for these 2 and theyalso did a great job in meetingthe CBS staff. Joining them on their trip today was hound mix Maya who quickly found good friends with these tan boys by her side. Previously we may have noted neither Fred nor bandit typically kiss on the firstdate however, Jamarcus Gaston, Host for Your Carolina got a soft swarming from the 2 and a fewkisses as well. We believe in these great boys and can't wait to see them home. They are starting to struggle a bit at the shetler.... losing weight and gettinga bit anxious. With the extrapress from today, they have their paws crossed that someone just like YOU might come for them soon!! Please ask for them today.
Facebook Update Dec 17: In case you missed out, check out how massively handsome and marvelous our blonde boys FRED and BANDIT did on Fox News Carolina's Four Legged Friends today! Recall, they and others, headed to Greenville to interview on the set yesterday and now, their work is being broadcast each day this week.
We've been pushing siblings FRED and BANDIT for several reasons. #1 They are awesome dogs...so sweet and friendly and ready to go and do. They are perfect-o! #2 With the chilly outside temps, our larger doggies have really struggled to keep up their weight. They are not doing very well and the stress of the kennel environment is very much weighing on their hearts, bodies and minds.
Please, please consider adding them to your home this holiday season. They are 4 yrs old, have done well with other dogs, they successfully shopped the aisles of Tractor Supply a couple of weeks ago and had THE best time! They just want humans to love on and to be loved back!!
