My Story

Frosty the Snowman is a resilient sweetheart that has transformed from a wounded stray into a loving companion who brightens every room with his gentle spirit! Despite his tough start in life, Frosty's beautiful soul shines through in his endless affection for people and his perpetual tail-wagging during vet visits. Currently recovering from a leg injury, this brave boy maintains his cheerful disposition! And he loves having his very own fan keeping him cool while he rests. He is crate trained, walks well on leash, and is willing to learn. He enjoys being both indoors and outside, and would love a 6’ fenced-in yard. He's proven to be good with both indoor and outdoor cats, paying them no attention. Frosty has also shown wonderful social skills with dogs of all sizes, from pugs to fellow large breeds, though he prefers to dine privately in his crate to avoid any mealtime tension. This distinguished boy enjoys the simple pleasures in life - car rides and meeting new friends are at the top of his list. While thunderstorms might make him a bit nervous, Frosty faces each day with remarkable courage and resilience. Once fully recovered, this sweet soul will make an incredible companion for an active family who can help him blossom into the magnificent Pyr he's meant to be. If you let him, Frosty will steal your heart, and potentially your bed as well! - Written by H.B. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
