Hello friends, my name is Callie and I’m really hoping to find my family. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I’m a 10 month old border collie with a very kissable pink stripe on my nose, and a great smile. I’m full-grown, but will fill out a bit as I mature.
I grew up on a ranch, and wasn’t exposed to much there. I can be a bit timid when meeting new people or experiencing new things, but as long as you take it slow and steady and I see that I can trust you, I can blossom into the sweet loving playful girl that I am inside.
I’m very affectionate and cuddly, and l love the companionship of another friendly dog or dogs. I look to them for cues and they help me build confidence.
I love playing with toys, and I have all of the makings of a Velcro dog: I stick close by, check in often, and come easily when called.
I have been exposed to chickens, donkeys, sheep, and cats at the farm. I am curious to indifferent toward the animals, except for that barn cat that hissed and swatted at me - now I give him a very wide berth.
I crate easily and quietly. I will often put myself to bed when I’m tired, bringing in a toy for company. I haven’t had any potty accidents in the house.
My ideal home would be a quiet adult household without a lot of hubbub and another confident, social dog to show me the ropes.
I am a bit nervous around new people and will require time and patience to become comfortable with them. I am sensitive to quick or sudden movements or a direct approach, and will shy away, though I do recover quickly.
I’d love a family that would offer me a structured daily routine and calm leadership to help boost my confidence and make me feel secure.
I don’t have the intensity of most border collies, but I am still a young dog with moderate energy level and will need daily exercise and playtime and plenty of durable chew toys. I should have a fenced yard and opportunity to run around off-leash.
Due to my sensitive nature, It would be best that I go to a home with no young children. A single older child might be suitable. And I’d really like a quiet spot with a crate or bed in the home where I can retreat to if I get overwhelmed.
So you see, I really am a truly an exceptional companion in the making. I have a wonderfully sweet, gentle, and loving nature and desperately want to bond with people, I just need a dedicated family that will give me the time and training I need to flourish.
I am UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed so she I’m ready to go to my forever home. Currently being fostered in Aurora, Oregon.
