Georgie

This girl is our sweet mama Georgie. She is approximately 2 years old (best guess!) and her beautiful coat and small stature have us thinking she's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix. Georgie and her newborns came into rescue 6 weeks ago after she gave birth in a shed in a rural Virginia. She raised her babies and now its time for her to move on to her happily ever after. Here’s the thing about Georgie. She was clearly treated VERY badly before she found her way here. It took weeks to get her to eat a treat from her foster mom's hands. She still flinches if we raise our arms too quickly - even though we promise her we'll NEVER hurt her. Georgie is just now starting to wag her tail and show some excitement - and not fear- when we walk into the room. Georgie is searching for a family that can see her for what she can be. She needs the most amazing of people - someone who is patient and kind and willing to go at her pace. Georgie is initially scared of other dogs - and is untested with cats. We truly believe that with slow introductions, and feeling safe and secure, Georgie could thrive in home as an only pup or with another calm canine (or feline!) companion.
