My Story

Gigi will pull you in with those striking blue eyes but her happy-go-lucky personality is what grabs hold of your heart. She is a petite little thing too, big personality in a tiny frame makes for an adorable combo. Weighing just 39 lbs shes what I lovingly call travel size- wont take up much room and is exactly the right size for adventures. She wont even take up a whole couch cushion, and when she really gets in close for cuddles she takes up even less space since almost half of her is on you. While her breed is a bit of a mystery, we think she might have some Australian Shepherd in her, but shes probably a delightful mix of multiple breedsa true Texas surprise! When it comes to personality, Gigis the whole package. Shes a rough and rowdy player who loves to let loose and run around with her doggy friends, but she also knows how to chill and take a break when its time. In fact, she joins in large playgroups regularly, often with anywhere from 10-15 dogs, and that is a variety of personalities and sizes. She stays calm and tolerant with even the pushiest of playmates. She can quickly turn an annoying dog into her opponent in a game of chase or get them wrestling with her, all in good fun of course. Her basics are already solid too! Gigi is fully potty and crate trained, and shes a quick learner with commands like sit, down, and touch, especially when treats are involved. Shes great on a leash but can get a little excited when she sees other dogs, but has been gentle-leader trained which is a great tool to use as needed. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play. Oh, and did I mention shes cat-friendly? She lives with one in her foster home! This little cutie is still young and full of energy. If you have ever wanted a dog to learn agility, Gigi is ready for it! She is one of the first dogs I have seen learn so quickly to jump through a raised hoop, maybe five minutes and a few treats were all it took. Her confidence really shines when being introduced to learning new physical skill. Climbing ramps, weaving, navigating platforms, she looks like a natural and truly enjoys it. She loves walks, hikes, and could even make a fantastic running partner. Plus, this girl is great with kids of all agessuper tolerant of their anticsand has even been know to join on the trampoline when invited. Gigis personality really seals the dealshes one-of-a-kind! Whether its her playful energy, her love for dog toys, or her sweet cuddles, shes ready to light up your life. Gigi is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and waiting for her forever home! Dont miss your chance to make this sweet girl part of your family! Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program, prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue just celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 11,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
