My Story

Please contact Joelle Windmiller ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.Sweet Ginny looking for her forever home!GINNY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Ginny Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/Retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 9 mo as of January 2025 (DOB 4/14/24) SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 45 lbs as of January 2025; she still has a bit more to grow! Gets Along With: Other dogs! Although Ginny has not lived with children, she has done well with those kids she has met. Given what we have observed so far, however, we think she would do well in a home with kids. We haven't seen Ginny with cats, but she can be tested if you have them. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Ginny is Looking For: A wonderful family to provide lots of love and play! She's willing to bring endless joy and wagging tails to a family that will cherish her. With a heart full of love, a nose for fun, and a special talent at getting fearful kids to play with her gentle nature, this dog is searching for a best friend to share their days with. Will it be you? What Shelter Staff Say About Autumn: Ginny spent some time on the Dogs Playing For Life Canine Center campus in Florida. There, she received basic training and enrichment, and socialized with other dogs. Shelter staff say she successfully learned Sit and Place commands, was doing well with loose leash walking, and had learned to sit and wait at thresholds and cross only after being invited to do so, when leashed up to go out. In playgroup with other dogs, she got along wonderfully with other dogs and made many dog friends. She could play gently, or more energetically with other dogs; she can adjust her play style. She would love to keep making more doggie friends when she goes to her forever home! What My Foster Says About Me: Ginny is the perfect lab puppy. She loves every person she's ever met and wants to always be by your side. She's having a blast with her foster siblings, playing fetch, tug or wrestle and then napping on them when they're tired out. She does well in the crate and sleeps through the night. She's a perfect, happy, fun, wiggly girl and would make a perfect addition to any home! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
