Gizmo

Introducing Gizmo, a gorgeous poodle mix with an amazing zest for life! Gizmo is a very happy dog who loves to run in the yard and play. He is healthy, strong and very active. His favourite activity is playing fetch in the yard with his foster parents! He is a pro at bringing the ball back and waiting for it to be thrown again. Gizmo also loves his squeaky toys and will happily amuse himself playing with them! Gizmo loves to sit and people watch by the windows in his foster family’s house. He loves his food, so he’s enjoying learning new commands and tricks. He knows “sit”, and he’s very close to having “stay” completely down too! His favourite place to be petted is behind his ears, he gets all relaxed and sleepy when his foster mom does it! Gizmo is great with other dogs and likes to great his foster family’s doggie neighbour whenever they are in their yards at the same time. He doesn’t need other dogs to be happy though, he loves his humans so much! Gizmo adores people. He gets so excited when his foster family have visitors, he greets them like long lost friends. He loves to get attention and love from friends and strangers alike, he’s just a friendly, happy little guy! Gizmo is good with kids, although he’s working on jumping when excited, so will likely do better in a home with kids over 8 years old. He is very curious about cats! He tries to play with his foster parents’ cats, showing no aggression towards them. Gizmo is around 2 years old and weighs 17lbs. He is an excellent car passenger, having made several long trips with his foster family. He is almost fully potty trained and is great in the crate. Even though he’s great in the crate, we think that he’d also love to have the opportunity to sleep in bed with his forever family, if they would like that! Gizmo loves his food, and his foster parents have him eat separately, otherwise he’ll steal his siblings’ food! We hope to find a loving, active family for Gizmo. He would thrive with a fenced in yard and lots of playtime! We think that he would be happy as an only dog or with doggie siblings. Just as long as he gets to play fetch! He doesn’t like baths but tolerates them very well. Since he is a poodle mix, his forever family will need to be aware of his grooming needs.
