FOSTER HOME NEEDED
I am a good boy. I promise.
When I was born I was a good boy with my brothers and sisters. When my new human family came to get me I loved them with all my heart. I was so happy. I was left alone in the tiny dirty side yard. But I loved my family and knew they would realize that I was a good boy and let me come inside to be their best friend.
When the rain came and my tiny enclosure was so muddy, I was so cold. But a nice lady from animal control came to do a well check and my family made a small cover, placed some shavings on the ground and gave me water and food. I was sure that if I could stay clean they would love me. But the hot days started and my master must have fallen into hard times, I sometimes got meals and sometimes I did not. My neighbor who always had major fights with my master but always stopped to talk to me through the fence started to help with my meals and water. Something horrible must have happened to my family for them to disappear. I must get out of this enclosure to find them. As I planned my escape this nice animal control lady came to my home and took me away. I heard them say my family left me behind when they moved. Was I not a good boy??
I must find my family to let them know i am very sorry for any problem I may have caused and that I can be a good boy. I like it here . I walk outside to get attention from volunteers and sleep inside when the weather is bad.
You see the shelter is full and I have been here the longest so I am back outside so they don't put me to sleep. They are very nice to me and I have such a big backyard now. I am able to keep clean and the kennel I use at night is also clean. Someone from Lucky Dog Rescue just came to see me and they told me they will look for.a foster family for me. I must have been a good boy.
This is Gomes story. Since he was a puppy he was left in a tiny muddy side yard with no food water or shelter. After multiple visits from animal control the owner refused to surrender him and provided minimal shelter, food and water until they just moved and left him behind without water or food. The neighbor who often called animal control provided him with water and food through the fence. He is about one to 2 years old, is sweet and loves people. He needs to learn to not pull on leash walks, meet dogs more politely as he likes other dogs and gets excited, and learn to live inside a home. But he apears to be very clean. His kennel is clean and he will not pee or poop in it
Gomes is medium energy dog , who gets cues from other dogs and backs off if he is being too much. So, he is excitable at first but calms down quickly with other dogs. He likes to jump on people but is learning not to.
Shelter is full so in order not to euthanize him he was allowed to live in the back of the shelter. His days are numbered. If you can help him please let me know, [email protected].
