This sweet boy is calm, affectionate, and eager to please. Inside the house, Gus is a true gentleman—completely housetrained, kennel-trained, and content to relax by your side for pets and treats. He’s happiest when he has a safe and loving space to call home. Gus loves the outdoors and enjoys running and exploring the backyard. He’s curious about other dogs and has shown interest in playing but gets a little anxious when they get too close, sometimes leading to nervous peeing. There’s no aggression—just a bit of shyness. With patience and gentle guidance, Gus will grow more confident around other animals. Gus would thrive in a home with older kids or a quieter environment, as loud, energetic children can make him nervous. He’s met a high-energy 7-year-old and behaved beautifully but showed some pacing due to the excitement. Gus needs a family that understands his gentle, sensitive nature and can provide him with a calm and loving environment. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
