Meet Hambone!
Hambone is an 8 month old male heeler mix who currently weighs 45 pounds. Hambone is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find a family to call his own! Hambone, his mom and 3 siblings were all dumped in an area commonly known for strays and dumped dogs. Unfortunately, the momma dog did not make it, so we vowed to find Hambone and his siblings the best forever homes in her honor.
Hambone is dog friendly! He's still a young pup and a Heeler mix, so we'd say he has a moderate energy level. He enjoys running and playing with other dogs and wrestling if the other dog will agree.
Hambone is also cat friendly and currently lives with a cat in his foster home.
Hambone is kid friendly! He's very sweet and adaptable and we think Hambone is a "best friend" kind of dog. He is looking to be loved and will give it back a thousand-fold. He would love a best friend who is old enough to run and play with him.
Hambone walks great on a leash! He will walks straight to the front door and sits and waits to be let outside. He has a little prance to his walk, as if he's really enjoying himself! He stays calmly by your side and walks great on the leash.
Hambone is fully potty trained and is always sure to go potty outside. Hambone is also crate trained! He sometimes chooses to go into the crate to relax or nap all on his own. When I have to leave the house, I usually give him a kong with peanut butter to occupy him and he's totally fine in the crate.
Hambone would love a home that will take him out on adventures! He would make for a great hiking buddy. He's great with all dogs and would love a doggie companion to keep him company, but this isn't entirely necessary.
Here's a small blurb about Hambone from his foster mom:
Hambone is truly the sweetest dog and he absolutely adores people! If I didn't have so many of my own, he would be staying! He is just so amazing. He's destined to be someone's best friend, someone's soul dog. He's loyal, affectionate and smart. He has been an absolute DREAM to foster! He's quick to learn and eager to please his humans. He is treat and affection motivated. He has the sweetest disposition. He learned to walk on the leash like a pro in just a few days and we were able to teach him "sit" in just one session. He has been the best buddy and I have enjoyed every minute of fostering him. The only "quirk" that Hambone has is he's still a young pup, so I always make sure he's got a chew toy to keep him occupied. He has a wagging tail and a heart full of love! He's the kind of dog that can go anywhere with you. He loves car rides and greets people with a tail wag and a wiggly butt. All Hambone truly wants in life is a companion to take him on adventures and curl up on the couch for snuggles.
