Handsome came to us very sickly and underweight after he showed up on a local families porch looking for food and protection from the bitter cold snap we were experiencing.
He is estimated to be about 6 years old as of 2/19/2024 as we have a birthdate listed for him at 1/29/2018
Handsome is still on some meds for his skin and is getting scheduled routine medicated baths. He has been clear to be neutered which is scheduled for
Monday 2/26/2024.
Handsome is a friendly fella but we have found he is a food resource guarder. That could be from being nearly starved but he is working on that and it may take time and he probably need to be fed separate from other animals or humans.
We have found Handsome to be very curious and playful as he starts to feel better and better daily. He loves rope toys and balls when he is out in our play yard.
He does ok on a leash but he does pull and he does need more leash training.
He seems to be ok with both kids and dogs but meet & greet with any dogs is a requirement.
Handsome will be cleared to go to his forever home once his neuter is complete next week. He has already had his Distemper, Rabies & Bordatella Vaccines and has been heartworm tested negative. At the time of his neuter he will also be microchipped.
