My Story

IF NOT CLAIMED BY OWNER AVAILABLE SATURDAY, NOV. 23 PROOF OF OWNERSHIP REQUIRED Hank was found on Oakdale Road, Glouster. Hank is between 4 and 5 years old. He is microchipped and we have pieced together quite a bit of information on him. He was originally adopted from the Fairfield Humane Society in Lancaster (shelter name there was Gumbo). His original owners were contacted. They said that they rehomed him and that they knew that the new owners changed his name to Hank. They also said that they had received a microchip alert on Jan. 1, 2023, indicating that Hank was in the Perry County Dog Shelter. A call has been made to the Perry Co Shelter attempting to find out if their records could identify who claimed/adopted Hank from their shelter. Hank is neutered and appears to be housebroken. The biggest reason for all the rehoming, that we can ascertain, is that Hank is hard to contain. He likes to wander. We have found him to be a gentle giant. He showed up at a farm where he got along with horses, chickens and other dogs. Hank currently weighs 98 pounds. Meeting dogs is by appointment only. Please call the shelter (740/593-5415) to make an appointment. All adopters must bring in kids and other dogs in the household for a meet and greet before adoption. Adoption fees are $125 ($65 for dogs 7 years old and older) and include dog license, basic vaccinations, heartworm test on adult dogs, and spay or neuter (ARRIVED 11/19/24).
