My Story

Please contact Jodi Rosenberg ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.Handsome boy looking for his forever home Hank NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Hank Best Guess for Breed: Setter/Gordon Setter Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of December 2024 Gender: male Approximate Weight: 50 lbs. Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested. Currently Living At: South Carolina shelter and he needs a foster or forever home! Special Adoption Considerations: Hank is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Hank is Looking For: Hank is in the prime of his life and looking for long walks, adventurous hikes, and a fun time playing with his new friends. He would like to be part of a family and snuggle up for belly rubs. This handsome guy is seeking for his next adventure, with his sleek black-and-tan coat and expressive, kind eyes that will melt your heart. What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
