Meet Harper – Queen of Happiness, Snuggles, and Second Chances! Hi! I’m Harper, the happiest, sweetest 3-year-old you’ll ever meet. Seriously, my tail has its own workout routine—it’s always wagging. I’ve been waiting patiently for the forever home I’ve always dreamed of, and now I’m ready to make some lucky humans fall madly in love with me. Let’s talk history: I was found as a stray (I like to think of it as my “Eat, Pray, Love” phase), rescued by Take Paws, and adopted two years ago. But guess what? Life threw a plot twist, and I found myself back at the rescue recently. My humans said I had some “resource guarding,” but here’s the kicker—I went to board and train, and the experts came back with their official report: P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Yup, flawless. Grade-A good girl. Now I’m hanging out at Stray Café, and once again, everyone agrees: I’m the best thing since peanut butter-stuffed Kongs. Sure, I might have gotten a little too attached to my stuff before, but that’s ancient history. With a few easy tricks and some snacks (did I mention I love snacks?), I’ll have you wondering what all the fuss was about in the first place. Oh, and if you’ve got other pets, I’m your girl. I’ve lived with four dogs and two cats, and I was a total gem—friendly, playful, and zero drama. Big dogs? Tiny dogs? Doesn’t matter. I play nice with everyone. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures.
