My Story
Im Hawthorn, and what would really make my year would be finding my forever home for the holidays! Before we make it official, you should probably know a little more about me. Here it goes! I love the company of humans. Im a great listener, and Ill gladly be your ear we can talk about anything! The overabundance of Hallmark Holiday movies, your day, the awesomeness of plush squeaky toys, what we should make for dinner anything and everything! Im also a lap dog. I know, some say Im too big to be one, but meh, Im going to keep trying. I just want to be as close to you as possible. I might not fully understand my size, but the humans here at MACC think Id do well with older kids who I wont accidentally bump over with my excited wiggles. And oh, Im a snuggle bug. I love to snuggle with my humans! I may also have a tendency to hump their legs but Im working on it, promise. Im also trying to get the hang of not counter surfing, so some continued training would be awesome. But add in some bacon-flavored treats, pets, and praise, and Im all in! Oh, and I take treats super gently. Im also great with meeting new humans and love when I get to sniff you first. You know, to get to know you a little! Once were acquainted, my playful, silly side bursts out, and Ill show you how much I love playing with toys. And, did I mention Im a pro at couch-to-couch parkour? Yep, Im pretty awesome at it. During playgroups with other dogs, I tend to be more of an observer and explorer. Im cool with sniffs (tail wagging, of course), but Im also happy just curiously sniffing everything around me. Id be fine with another dog in my forever home, especially if they like to sniff and explore too! A fenced yard would be amazing, too endless exploring, smells, and room for fetch with my humans! Speaking of exploring, I absolutely love going for walks! Seriously, every time the leash comes out, my tail starts wagging like crazy. My whole body wiggles with excitement. On walks, I love to smell EVERYTHING. All the things. And then, I pee on everything Ive smelled, just to let other dogs know its been thoroughly investigated. Youre welcome. I pull a little on the leash, but its just because I want to smell every inch of the ground and say hi to everyone I meet. As much as I love humans, I might love toys just a little more. Not sure Im still deciding! Both are so great! I dont mind sharing my toys with my humans, either. My favorite ones are the plush squeaky ones. One last thing Im a warm sleeper. I love sleeping with a fan blowing a cool breeze on me. I know, its a little quirky, but it helps me sleep like a champ. So, thats pretty much everything you need to know about me!
