*****LOOKING FOR A LONG TERM FOSTER OR ADOPTER*****
MEET HAZEL
Hazel came to us on September 18th of this year from the Marion County Animal Shelter. She was very scared, shut down, not eating or drinking and very pregnant. She went into labor 24 hours after landing at her foster home. Hazel is an amazing mom but we don't know Hazel prior to being a momma. She is very protective of her babies and is not a fan of any of the dogs in her foster home coming near her kennel, and that's okay.
Her babies are now 9 weeks old and finding their forever homes. We are hoping Hazel can do the same. We are looking for a very special home for her. A home that will get to know Hazel and show her love patience and kindness as she adjusts from having babies. A home that does not have any dogs or cats or is able to keep her separated from the other animals while she adjusts and then slowly introduce her to them to see how she does.
Hazel is approximately 3 years old and has been through a lot in her young life. She is slow to trust, especially with men. She is a sweet sweet girl but just needs someone who will go slow with her and feed her yummy treats (like chicken) so she knows you are there for her and will not let her down. Please help us help Hazel, after everything she has been through she deserves an amazing forever home.
Ideally we are looking for a forever home for Hazel but understand that she is not your typical dog so instead we would like to find someone that is willing to foster with the potential to adopt Hazel. A home that will give her time to settle and time to grow and adjust to just being a part of the family not having to worry about her next meal, not having to worry about caring for babies. If you are willing to give Hazel a chance by opening your home to her and helping her please fill out our adoption application and her current foster will reach out. IF at any point during you are fostering her you decide you have fallen in love and wish to add her to your family permanently we will waive Hazel's adoption fee. However, if it just isn't working out and you don't feel like your home is the best for Hazel, that is okay, and we will get her listed for adoption. All we ask is that you are understanding that this will be a long term foster. Hazel will need a few weeks to adjust to a new setting and environment before you truly get to know her and we are able to list her for adoption. The worst thing we can do to Hazel at this time is move her a round a bunch so we are asking that if you apply you are committed to seeing this through to adoption for sweet Hazel. Whether that is you adopting her or someone else.
Hazel is spayed, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Hazel is currently being fostered in Centralia. If you are interested in meeting Hazel , you will need to travel to the Foster's location in Centralia.
An approved application and an appointment is required.
