My Story

Hazel is a 3-month-old Malinois/Pitbull mix and the ultimate cuddle bug! Currently weighing 15 pounds, her favorite place is right by your side, snuggled under a blanket, making the cutest little napping noises like squeaks and snorts. If you're looking for a puppy with a heart full of love, Hazel is your girl! This clever pup is making fantastic progress with house training, rarely having accidents. Crate training is coming along too--she's fine eating in there by herself, but feels safer sleeping in there when her foster brother is nearby. Of course, she'd prefer to share your bed for nighttime snuggles! Hazel gets along beautifully with other animals. She's wonderfully polite and playful with her foster family's resident dog, and loves their games of tug-of-war. She's also gentle and curious around cats, showing no aggression at all. While Hazel hasn't met children yet, her sweet and calm nature suggests she'd do well with kids, especially with a bit of supervision as she adjusts. Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she takes great pride in hoarding her toys into a pile when she's done playing. Hazel is vocal at times when she's playing, like barking when the mailperson comes, so she has a protective instinct. She would do best with either a human home often and/or another dog to play with, though this need may lessen over time. When she's all done, her favorite activity is napping! Hazel is eager to find her forever family, and ready to fill your home with plenty of puppy love! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
