Hazel - the strongest pup around. Her story starts in the womb, when her Mom was brought to a shelter and gave birth overnight. The shelter reached out to rescues for help. Rescued Treasures and Buddy Love Rescue decided to tag team and take them in.
Hazel has been with Michelle, her dedicated foster, since she was just five weeks old. Early on, Michelle noticed a small bump on Hazel’s head that vets advised monitoring until her spay appointment. But with the mass growing and after multiple vet visits, the diagnosis suggested it was an inflammatory response from birth, but antibiotics didn’t help. Eventually, it was decided the lump needed to be removed, immediately.
After surgery, Hazel’s recovery was tough—she’s a playful puppy who didn’t understand why she had to stay calm which caused complications. The site soon filled with fluid, requiring a drain.
Thanks to Kathy who works at the vet and decided to help take her to care for her drain, and her foster Michelle’s unyielding dedication, Hazel began to HEAL!!
After months of love, patience, and medical care, Hazel has been cleared by the vet and is finally ready to find her forever home
Today she is busy working on potty training & doing very well with crate training.
Hazel is happy to meet any and all people & animals. She has met a few cats and seems interested in them and wanting to play with them. Hazel really loves interacting with children. Hazel is already busy at work learning basic skills using positive reinforcement training & is eager to keep learning. Hazel’s favorite thing in life is food! This makes training really fun and easy for her. Hazel has proven to be an escape artist and for this reason she will need to have a physically fenced in yard.
