My Story

NOTE: All adoptions are only in the greater Houston, TX area. Please Note: WE ARE NOT A SHELTER- ALL DANES ARE IN FOSTER HOMES MEET HAZEL - Hazel belonged to a senior who was placed in a nursing home. The other family members simply dumped this poor girl in a high kill shelter. Hazel is very loving and attaches to her humans very quickly. Hazel has never lived with another dog and does not do well with other dogs in the family as she wants all the attention and love. Hazel is calm and loves sitting on her humans lap. Hazel would be an excellent candidate for a senior who needs companionship. Hazel does not require walks or much exercise. Hazel is confused as to why she has lost her human and will need some time to reestablish herself in a new home. If you can give Hazel a loving home she will repay you with lots of love and kisses. ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $350.00 In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses. To do so, please visit our website at www.saveadane.org GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.
