My Story
Meet Helga PC
Fir Christmas I’m asking Santa Claws…wait…is Santa a cat…why does he have Claws? Anyway..I distract. Fir Christmas I’m asking for a crown, the princess kind, not the tooth kind, just to be clear.
Some nice rescue ladies knew me as the wandering princess of South San Antonio. They were all “we gotta get this girl spayed and into a rescue” and they did. My pleading eyes were beckoning fur a better situation than street life.
Although, my street name was Princess, Foster Mom says I ain’t no Princess, I’m a sturdy girl , a beautiful one at that, and at about 60-70 pounds, she thinks I’m a total Helga.
Helga seems fitting for a Princess because it’s a good strong name for a dog having the coloring of a Switzerland based dog, the Bernese Mountain dog. Am I one? Probably not, but if you enjoy that color combo, you’ll find me quite fetching.
I’m a big gal, but that doesn’t stop all the smaller dogs at Foster Mom’s having crushes on me. Googley heart eyes galore over here. I have two boyfriends that aren’t even knee high to a squirrel. I play great with all sizes of dogs.
I am a beautiful, gentle soul who has been raised in the streets but I did technically have an owner, they just weren’t allowed dogs in their household, so I was living in limbo. I will finally have an actual place to call home. Your house!
My overall temperament is laid-back, while a bit skittish at first due to street smarts. I do trust and enjoyed to run and play with the kids in the neighborhood when I was a stray.
In general, it’s not good to get into cars with strangers, even if they say they have candy or puppies or the full season set of the Golden Girls or you know whatever would get you into a vehicle. But getting into the vehicle with those rescue ladies was the best decision I ever made.
Thank you to all the humans who do the hard work to get girls such as me off the streets.
