Hermosa

Hermosa is a 6 year old female spayed shepherd mix that even after having to face the shelter three times, has never lost her kind and mellow demeanor. She originally was picked up as a 3 month old puppy covered in ticks. She was soon adopted and then returned at 8 months old (45lbs) for being too big. she endured another couple months before being adopted again for what we wish woud've been for good. But never the less Hermosa was found wandering as a stray. She was picked up by animal control and her chip was contacted but no one ever came for sweet Hermosa. She's done great with other dogs and spent much of her year in the shelter in and out of playgroup. She is currently being fostered with 2 female pitties. She does well with playing in the yard with her foster siblings or lounging around the house. She has been known to be very smart and aware of her enclosures and does best being crated when not home. She has been nothing but loving and affectionate with everyone she has encountered with her foster family. She has done well with the elderly, young and older children, as well as all other adults. She has such an inviting demeanor in general. Her shepherd tendencies do show from time to time. Cats and squirrels definitely excite and entice this lively girl. She does well with being hand fed and is always fed separately from her siblings. She's very treat motivated which has been making training a breeze. She knows how to sit and shake. She's crate and house trained. This makes all home transitions that much easier. She's done great with grooming and allows to be bathed, brushed, and blow dried. Overall she's a special dog with such a neutral demeanor that she would make the perfect family dog.
