My Story

Name: Hi Age: Estimated 11 months Sex: Female (Spayed) Weight: 25 lbs Energy Level: Moderate (Hi has bursts of playful energy outdoors but is calm and relaxed at home, where she enjoys playing quietly with toys or resting.) Foster Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/fostering._.hi/] More Pictures and Videos: [https://photos.app.goo.gl/XDefzuTXsESFSgiY9] Rescue Story: Hi was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Hongsung, South Korea, where she spent much of her early life in stressful and overcrowded conditions. She was found with severe skin issues and was scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, Hi was saved just in time and has since received the care she needed to heal. Her skin has improved greatly, and she is now ready to find her forever home. Hi will fly to the U.S. once a suitable family is found. Approved adopters will have a two-week trial period to ensure the right match and long-term commitment. Ideal Home: Hi would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can take her time to feel safe and secure. She needs a family experienced with shy or cautious dogs, who understands the importance of slow introductions and positive reinforcement. A quiet household without small children would be ideal, and a gentle, well-mannered dog companion could help her build confidence. Hi is a sweet, affectionate dog who will blossom with love and patience. Personality & Behavior • With Women: Hi is more comfortable around women and has been gradually opening up to her foster mom. She’s beginning to show her sweet and playful side. • With Men: Hi tends to be more cautious around men and may take longer to warm up to them. • With Children: Hi is nervous around children, particularly those who are loud or make sudden movements. She doesn’t show aggression—only hesitation and a desire to retreat. • With Large Dogs: Hi loves calm, gentle dogs. At the dog park, she enjoys following other dogs and even initiates play with dogs her size or larger, as long as they are not overly energetic. • With Small Dogs: Hi is friendly and playful with smaller dogs, approaching them gently and interacting calmly. • With Cats & Other Animals: Hi has shown no interest in smaller animals, such as birds or cats, during her walks and hasn’t had direct interactions with them. Training & Habits • Time Alone: Hi is typically left alone for 3-4 hours daily and spends her time resting. • Separation Anxiety: She does not show signs of separation anxiety. Occasionally, she whines briefly when her foster leaves, but she quickly calms down. • Car Rides: Hi is calm and relaxed in the car, showing no signs of motion sickness. She traveled smoothly from Hongsung to Seoul during her rescue. • Walking & Leash Skills: Hi enjoys walks but can become nervous in crowded or unfamiliar environments. She sometimes pulls on the leash and requires gentle guidance and reassurance. With patient training, her confidence continues to grow. • Grooming: Hi is cooperative during baths, brushing, and nail trimming. She tolerates tooth brushing but prefers shorter sessions. • Vocalization: Hi is generally quiet and doesn’t bark excessively. Occasionally, she may bark briefly to signal caution around strangers. • House Training: Hi was 100% trained for outdoor potty breaks but currently uses pee pads indoors due to anxiety during walks. She is about 85% accurate with the pads and continues to improve. Health & Diet • Health Status: Hi’s previous skin condition has healed significantly with treatment, though she has some residual hair loss on her ears and chin. These areas are unlikely to fully regrow, but she is otherwise in great health. • Diet: Hi is currently eating a hydrolyzed fish collagen-based kibble and enjoys treats like beef jerky, chicken jerky, and pet milk. She loves natural snacks like dried fish and boiled sweet potatoes. • Favorite Toys: Hi loves wooden chew sticks, rope toys, and puzzle feeders that keep her entertained and engaged. Daily Routine • Morning: Wakes up around 6 AM when her foster mom starts the day. She eats breakfast at 8 AM, often after her foster leaves the house. • Afternoon: Rests quietly in her favorite spot by the window or under the table. She occasionally goes for a midday walk around 3 PM. • Evening: Her foster mom returns around 8:30 PM, and Hi wags her tail excitedly to greet her. She eats dinner nearby and later goes for a walk to a local park for her potty break. • Night: Hi plays quietly with her toys or explores the house before settling down to sleep. Hi is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date with her vaccinations. She is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention year-round. Hi will fly to the U.S. (JFK/EWR) once her forever family is found. The adoption fee is $650, which includes her international transportation. Adopters are required to follow safety guidelines, including providing the following items to keep Hi secure: • A Tractive GPS tracking device • A Ruffwear Webmaster Harness • A martingale collar If you think Hi could be the perfect addition to your family, please apply here: [https://forms.gle/829G6rVWGDwmMgqp7] Breed Information: Our rescue dogs’ breed information is based solely on their physical traits.
