Hitch ***Blind***

Hi, my name is Hitch and I came to MVPC with eye issues. Lucky for me MVPC loves helping nice dogs who just need a bit of medical attention to get healthy. I had to have my left eye removed due to glaucoma and I am blind in my right eye! Blind dogs are great dogs, but they can linger in the shelter, so I am SO glad they got me out of there!! My other senses - smell and hearing - are pretty strong so I get around really well. I learned the property at my foster home inside and out within 2 days! Despite being blind I am just a sweet and happy guy. I am cat and dog friendly and was a favorite at the shelter. I do good in my crate and love toys. I have a medium energy level but I also like to kick back and relax. I do like to be close to my people and I'm working on my manners. Because it takes me awhile to figure out where things are, I need a family who will be patient, structured and will allow me to acclimate using voice and smell. Please don’t let my disability prevent you from adopting me! Blind dogs get around just fine in the big world with just a little help from their friends. ADOPTION FEE: $300 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: Dog experience BIRTHDAY: 10/21/20 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes DOGS IN HOME: Yes CATS: Yes CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $300 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies.
